Prospective Students

The location of UTA  in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex - the nation's second largest technology corridor - makes possible exciting internships and job opportunities for Department of Computer Science and Engineering students.

More than 1,200 students -  700 undergraduates and 500 graduate students - are enrolled in our program. The department is part of the UTA's College of Engineering, the second-largest engineering college in Texas. UTA, with 24,000 students, is the fastest-growing university in Texas.

The department  implemented in 2000 a plan known as the Top 25 Initiative that is designed to enhance teaching and research excellence and advance the department to among the 25 top-ranked computer science and engineering  programs in the nation. Through that commitment to excellence, CSE ranks first in research funding at UTA. Its research faculty is internationally recognized.

Students are eligible for generous financial aid, including teaching assistantships and research assistantships for graduate students. Evening classes are offered, allowing working students to obtain degrees that will boost their careers.

Arlington, home to UTA, is centrally located between Dallas and Fort Worth and abounds with recreational activities. It is a fun and exciting place to live and attend school.
